Zheng Wantong, Vice-Chairman of the 11th National Committee of CPPCC and President of CICPMC Meets with Global Vice President of JPMorgan

On June 15, 2015, Zheng Wantong, Vice-Chairman of the 11th National Committee of CPPCC and President of CICPMC, met with Mr. Peter Hill, Global Vice President of JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Beijing.

President Zheng first expressed his warm welcome to Mr. Peter Hill and his colleagues, and briefly introduced the history of CICPMC and some general information about the “Multinational Corporations Leaders Roundtable (MCLR)” which has been jointly held for seven editions since 2007 by CICPMC and China Central Television (CCTV), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, United Nations Development Program, United Nations Environment Program, United Nations Industrial Development Organization and United Nations Global Compact. He also invited the Global President of JPMorgan and Mr. Peter Hill to attend the 8th MCLR to be held this year.

 

Mr. Peter Hill said he would convey the invitation to President of JPMorgan and he, himself, was very glad to accept the invitation. In introducing the development of JPMorgan in China, Mr. Peter said JPMorgan’s investment in China was long-term and sustainable. The company will not only emphasize business development, but also will be committed to its social responsibility. In the context of a New Normal for Chinese economy, JPMorgan will make continuous efforts to contribute to China’s urbanization drive.

 

President Zheng thought highly of JPMorgan’s contribution to China’s economic development and urbanization researching and hoped JPMorgan could support China’s economy and the “One Belt and One Road” strategy by use of advanced technologies of the US, with a view torealizing pragmatic, win-win cooperation through both sides’ efforts. He also said, CICPMC was a good platform for communication and it was good for the two sides to establish an effective communication mechanism and foster a long-term strategic cooperation relation to offer suggestions for China’s economic development.
