The 7th International Roundtable of Multinational Corporations's Leaders (IRMCL) is held in Beijing in November 11-13, 2014. Mr. Zheng Wantong, President of CICPMC and Chairman of IRMCL Organizing Committee, hosts the Roundtable and delivers important speeches.
Focused on the theme of “Promote Multinational Corporations’ Investment, Strengthen Corporate Social Responsibility and Facilitate Sustainable Development”, the gusts and delegates have exchanged their views toward a series of topics, including challenges in global economic development and China’s economic restructure, China’s development path of “Promote Reform through Opening-up”, the influence of China’ policies on the world market, multinational corporations’ development under trade liberalization and investment facilitation, corporate social responsibilities and business model. The discussions on the Roundtable play a postive role in the continuous recovery and healthy development of world economy.
Mr. Zheng Wantong has mentioned in his speech that the rule of law will bring more cooperative opportunities, creat better environment and broader market for foreign investors, including the multinational corporations.
The Roundtable, co-sponsored by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), United Nations Enviroment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Global Compact Office and China Central Television (CCTV), includes two plenary sessions and five parallel sessions. The two plenary sessions are Forum on ‘Bringing in’ and ‘Going Global’ for Development and Forum on Multinational Corporations' Social Responsibility. The five parallel sessions are Closed Meeting of China Presidents for Foreign Multinational Corporations, OECD Development Centre Meeting in China, China-India Closed Meeting of Multinational Corporations Leaders, International Forum of Food & Drug Safety and Responsibility and International Forum on Multinational Corporations in China’s New Urbanization Industries.
Since 2007, the International Roundtable of Multinational Corporations Leaders has been successfully held seven times and has created strong social responses as well as won wide-spread reputation in the international community.
Multinational corporation is a vital force in economic globalization. In the past 30 years of Reform and Opening-up, the Chinese government has attached great importance to the role of multinational corporations, actively engaged in international industrial specialization, firmly grasped the opportunities in economic globalization and become the active impeller and direct beneficiaries of international investment and cooperation.
