During November 6-7, 2015, the 8th International Roundtable of Multinational Corporations' Leaders (IRMCL) was successfully held in Beijing. More than 100 leaders from multinational corporations and dozens of officials from governments and international organizations including the United Nations, China National People's Congress (NPC), Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Ministry of Commerce of China, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and Beijing Municipal Government and participated in the Roundtable. Mr. Zheng Wantong, Vice-chairman of the 11th National Committee of CPPCC and President of CICPMC attended the meeting. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon designated a representative to take part in the meeting and sent his congratulatory letter.

Since 2007, IRMCL has been successfully held for seven editions and has played an important role in promoting mutually-beneficial cooperation between Chinese and foreign multinational corporations and sustainable development of China's economy and world economy. Under the theme of 'Adjusting Structure, Pursuing Innovation and Achieving Sustainable Development' and the tenets of 'Equality, Integrity, Cooperation and Win-win', this year's Roundtable stuck to the topics of 'promoting investment of multinational corporations, highlighting corporate social responsibility and advancing sustainable development'. Apart from the plenary session of Bringing in and Going Global, five parallel forums were held including China Intelligent Manufacturing Development Forum, Closed Meeting of China Presidents for Foreign Multinational Corporations, OECD Development Centre Meeting in China, International Forum of Food & Drug Safety and Responsibility, and Summit of Beijing CBD Multinational Corporations Club. The Roundtable also presented the 'Award of International Multinational Corporations' Leader 2015' 'Award of International Investment Strategist 2015' 'Award of Multinational Corporation with Contribution to Corporate Social Responsibility 2015' as well as some awards for leaders of different industries and released the list of “Top 300 Multinational Corporations in China”.

Revolving around the agenda of the Roundtable, leaders and representatives from Chinese and foreign multinational corporations conducted a thorough and in-depth discussion on current status of China's economy and world economy and contributed a lot of valuable constructive views and suggestions concerning the improvement of investment environment, intelligent manufacturing, multinational corporations' integration into China's economy, corporate social responsibility, the development of green economy, and so on.

Participants believe China is still in the period of important strategic opportunities and owns many favorable conditions and faces numerous different situations as well. Currently, China is still one of the most popular investment destinations. There is a broad prospect for foreign companies including multinational corporations to invest in China. The IRMCL provides a platform for corporate leaders, government officials and international organizations to carry out in-depth exchanges, enhance mutual understanding, and achieve win-win cooperation, with a view to advancing China's economic development and the recovery of world economy.
