On the afternoon of May 3rd, 2013, Mr. Zhang Xiaoyu, Executive Vice President of China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations (CICPMC), Mr. Wu Tongdiao, Vice President and Secretary-General of CICPMC, and others visited Mr. Hu Huaibang, Chairman of China Development Bank. This meeting was set up mainlyfor CICPMC to report to Chairman Hu Huaibang on the “China-India CEOs Forum” Mechanism and the preparatory work for the first Forum to be held in India on May 20th,2013, and to fully listen to Chairman Hu’s opinions and suggestions in this regard.

The “China-India CEOs Forum” Mechanismwas established as a standing communication platform for the large-scale enterprises in major cooperation fields between the two countries in accordance with the Joint communiqué of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of India, aimed at holding regular CEOs forums or conferences for member companies to discuss commercial and trade affairs, expand trade and investmentcooperation, and report to the two governments opportunities and difficulties in cooperation. The forum was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of India, and organized by China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations (CICPMC) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). China Development Bank and Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani (R-ADA) Groupwere designated as the Forum Chairman Units for both sides.

The reporting was primarily focused on background of the “China-India CEOs Forum” Mechanism, preparations and agenda for the first Forum, issues related to the joint efforts in work ahead of the visit to India, vision for long-term development of the Mechanism and so on. Mr. Hu Huaibang, as China’s Chairman of the Mechanism, affirmed CICPMC’s work and gave specific instructionson the content and forms of the first Forum, and other aspects. He stressed that the “China-India CEOs Forum” Mechanism was put forward by the Premiers of the two countries with great significance, and that we should implement the Mechanism well, serve the overall interests, and study the Forum programs carefully so as to hold the Forum in a pragmatic and productive manner.

Ms. Luo Xiaoqi, Director-General of the General Office of CICPMC, Mr. Wang Yin, Director-General of the International Center of CICPMC, Mr. Zhang Linwu, Director-General of the General Office of China Development Bank, Mr. Liang Huijiang, Director-General of the International Finance Bureau, Mr. Wang Gefan, Director-General of the International Cooperation Bureau, Mr. Jin Tao, Deputy Director-General of the International Cooperation Bureau, and Mr. Wu Xuelin, Deputy Director-General of the Finance Bureau, also attended the meeting.
