On April 10th, 2013, Mr. Zheng Wantong, Vice Chairman of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and President of China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations (CICPMC) met with the delegation led by Mr. Simon Henry, Executive Director of Board of Directors, Royal Dutch Shell Plc and Group CFO at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere. Mr. Zheng Wantong first expressed his welcome to the delegation led by Mr. Simon Henry, and expressed his sincere admiration and gratitude to Shell Group for its deep involvement in China’s economic construction and social development and the significant contribution it has made to China’s reform, opening up and modernization. After presenting the history of CICPMC and its important role in promoting the growth and cooperation among Chinese and foreign multinational corporations, Mr. Zheng Wantong introduced Multinational Corporations Leaders Roundtable(MCLR)which is co-sponsored by CICPMC and the five organizations of the United Nations, including UNCTAD, UNDP, UNEP, UNIDO and United Nations Global Compact Office. Mr. Zheng Wantong invited Mr. Simon Henry to attend the 6th Multinational Corporations Leaders Roundtable in November, 2013 and deliver a keynote speech. He also invited Mr. Simon Henry to become a Vice President of CICPMC.

Mr. Simon Henry spoke highly of the contribution that CICPMC has made to accelerate the development of multinational corporations. He gladly accepted Mr. Zheng Wantong’s invitation of attendance in the 6th Multinational Corporations Leaders Roundtable. He expressed his great attention and thanks to Mr. Zheng Wantong’s invitation for him to be a Vice President of CICPMC. Mr. Simon Henry fully affirmed China’s key status as the world’s second largest economic entity in Shell Group’s global strategy and introduced Shell Group’s development strategy and business situation in China. He also expressed the hope that Shell Group could utilize the platform of CICPMC, strengthen its strategic partnerships with Chinese enterprises in energy development and achieve mutual benefits.
