On March 21st to 28th, 2011, at the invitation of mayor of Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, CICPMC organized a delegation of some member corporations to attend the Surat Basin Information Summit.
The city of Toowoomba is the gateway for the Surat Basin, the Darling Downs and western Queensland in general. Brisbane and Gladstone are the shipping gateways to the world, but for the mining industry that is developing in the Surat Basin and the agriculture that in generated through the Darling Downs, Toowoomba is the pivotal centre for logistics for these industries. The summit put an emphasis on introducing the development of local mining and energy industries, and promoted some cooperative projects with the aim of providing information for representatives involved in the energy sector in relation to investment opportunities, specially focused on current and upcoming projects.
The delegation was led by Liu Ping, Director of Large Enterprises Cooperation Dept., CICPMC, and participated by representatives from China Minmetals Corporation, The Hina Group, Chaney International Inc. and other enterprises.
