On the afternoon of May 31, 2010, Mr. Zhang Xiaoyu, Executive Vice-President and Secretary-General of our Council, paid a visit to the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China accompanied by Ms. Hou Yanfang, Director-General of Dept. of European and African Affairs of our Council. There was a friendly talk between Mr. Zhang and Mr. Dirk Moens, Secretary General of the Chamber.

Mr. Zhang made a detailed introduction to the main functions of our Council as well as the many important activities which have been organized over the past more than 17 years since the establishment of our Council such as the ‘World Economic Development Declaration Conference’ and the ‘International CEO Roundtable of Chinese and Foreign Multinational Corporations’, etc.

Mr. Dirk Moens listened carefully to Mr. Zhang’s introduction and highly commented on the efforts of our Council in establishing the platform of exchange and cooperation between Chinese and foreign enterprises as well as between enterprises and governments in the past years. Mr. Moens showed great interest in the legal services provided by the International Legal Affairs Center of our Council.

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere. Both parties expressed their hope of setting up a mechanism of interaction, cooperating with each other and sharing resources.
