On the afternoon of April 17th, 2010, our Executive Vice-President and Secretary-General Mr. Zhang Xiaoyu, on behalf of our President Mr. Wang Maolin, paid a visit to Mr. Qin Guangrong, Governor of Yunnan Province in Kunming together with Mr. Khalid Malik, who just left office two days ago as UN Resident Coordinator in China and UNDP Resident Representative in China, and his delegation.

Governor Qin firstly expressed his warm welcome to the delegation and introduced in details

some large-scale international conferences organized by Yunnan Province in recent years such as China Import & Export Fair, Kunming-Product Exhibition for South Asian Countries as well as China South Asia Business Forum, etc..

Mr. Malik introduced projects conducted in Yunnan Province by the United Nations and by UNDP in particular. Meanwhile, he emphasized the wishes of UN as well as UNDP for further strengthening the closer cooperation with Yunnan Province.

The talk was held in a frank, cordial and friendly atmosphere.Ms. Silvia Morimoto, Deputy Country Director of UNDP in China, Mrs. Malik and Ms. Fancy Hou, Director-General, Dept. of European and African Affairs of our organization, attended this meeting.
