On October 26 to 28, 2020, under the organization of China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations ((hereafter referred to as CICPMC), Zheng Wantong, Vice President of the 11th CPPCC and President of CICPMC, led a delegation of 17 multinational corporations to visit Shaoxing and Huzhou (two cities in Zhejiang Province), which was an effort to implement the major decisions and deployments made by the central government and to promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. During the trip, meetings and discussions were held and investment projects were negotiated. The purpose was to encourage multinational corporations to make investment and settle down in Zhejiang so as to optimize industrial structure of the province.
Among the delegation were leaders from Royal DSM, Suez Group, PPG, Veolia Group, SAP Group, CP Group, Danfoss Group, Herbalife Nutrition, Nu Skin Enterprises, Kering Group, Tesla Holding, China National Nuclear Corporation, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Bank of China, China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group, New China Life Insurance Company, Zhonghao Zhida Investment Group, etc.
On October, 26, accompanied by Vice President Zheng Wantong, the delegation attended the 3rd World Textile Merchandising Conference, an event co-organized by CICPMC and the Opening Ceremony for the Keqiao Fashion Week.

On the afternoon of October 26, the delegation participated in the Keqiao Forum: Work Together to Get Integrated into the World with government officials and prominent business leaders.

During the event, Executive Vice President Zhang Xiaoyu stated that Keqiao District is an important strategic partner of CICPMC. Thanks to the first trip organized by CICPMC in July, many multinational corporations have learned more about Keqiao and intended to invest in the district. Present at the forum were also many corporations who came to Keqiao for the first time. CICPMC hoped to help them better understand Keqiao District so as to build connections with this area and discuss investment and cooperation projects. For those companies who had visited Keqiao before, CICPMC hoped that they could use this opportunity to continue to strengthen their connections.

Chen Jun, Director of Keqiao Management Commission of Economic and Technological Development Zone, presided over the forum and introduced the industrial development of Keqiao District.
Leaders of multinational companies discussed with representatives of key businesses in Keqiao to facilitate their cooperation.
On October 27, the delegation arrived in Huzhou City and held meetings with leaders of Wuxing District Party Committee and District Government as well as people in charge of the development and reform, economic and information, education, science and technology, commerce, human resource development, cultural tourism and ecological construction departments, heads of South Taihu High-Tech Industrial Development Zone and other officials of relevant townships to discuss such issues as environment protection, public health and production of nutritious food, tourism, R&D, cooperation with SOEs and new energy and energy conservation industries.

Executive vice president Zhang Xiaoyu, deeply impressed by the working style that features enthusiasm, openness, efficiency and discretion, praised Wuxing District for its favorable business environment. He hoped that this trip to Zhejiang could allow more multinational corporations to learn about Wuxing District and invest in this area. He also hoped that those corporations who come in a second visit could strengthen their connections with Wuxing District through in-depth communications.

Secretary of Party Committee Wu Bingfang spoke highly of the contributions made by CICPMC to the development of Wuxing District. He hoped that the two parties could achieve shared development and promote the landing of quality projects in Wuxing through visits, meetings and discussions. He also promised that Wuxing District would do its best to provide the necessary services and policy measures to facilitate the implementation of high-level projects of multinational corporations. For any major project, Wuxing District would take the initiative to seek support from leaders of municipal and provincial governments.

Fu Yuanchao, Deputy Head of Wuxing People’s Government, presided over the meeting and offered suggestions on the implementation of investment projects of the multinational corporations. Taking advantage of this special event, he also instructed relevant departments and townships to take the initiative to provide the necessary convenience. Deputy Head Fu Yuanchao promised that Wu Xing District would take concrete actions to serve the needs of multinational corporations and facilitate the implementation of quality investment projects.

Business leaders in the delegation introduced the situations of their own corporations and shared their investment intentions in line with the industrial structure of Wuxing District. They also proposed suggestions on the industrial development of Wuxing.

On the morning of October 28, people in charge of the relevant departments in Wuxing District conducted in-depth talks with leaders of multinational corporations to facilitate the implantation business projects in a targeted manner.
