The International CEO Roundtable of Chinese and Foreign Multinational Corporations is an international, large-scale and high-level conference approved by Ministry of Commerce, P.R.C. and supported by UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-Moon. It was initiated by China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations and is co-sponsored by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and United Nations Global Compact Office. This conference has been successfully held twelve times since year 2007 and has created strong social responses as well as won wide-spread reputation in the international community.
In accordance with the spirits of the United Nations and with tenets of “Equality, Credibility, Cooperation and Win-win”, the International CEO Roundtable of Chinese and Foreign Multinational Corporations seeks to build a platform of cooperation and exchange for Chinese and foreign multinational corporations and to set up a mechanism of communication and dialogues between Chinese and foreign industrial and commercial leaders and government officials. There have been discussions on hot and difficult issues of the year related to economic development in China and the world in every session, with participation of elites from Chinese and foreign political, business and economic circles, and remarkable fruits have been achieved. UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-Moon and UN Under-Secretary-General Mr. Sha Zukang sent congratulatory messages every year and gave high appraises to the conference. Meanwhile, UN officials at Under-Secretary-General level were designated to attend the conference, deliver speeches and make dialogues.
We will gradually build the ‘International CEO Roundtable of Chinese and Foreign Multinational Corporations’ into a big-brand, small-size and high-level summit for dialogues between international industrial and commercial leaders and government officials so as to make active contributions to the healthy and sustainable economic development of China and the world, and to strengthen international cooperation as well.
