In 2016, Chinese enterprises made non-financial direct investment of US $14.53 billion in 53 countries along the 'the Belt and Road', a year-on-year decrease of 2%, accounting for 8.5% of the total amount in the same period, mainly flowing to Singapore, Indonesia, India, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries and regions.

In terms of foreign contracted projects, in 2016, Chinese enterprises signed 8158 new foreign contracted project contracts in 61 countries along the 'the Belt and Road', with the newly signed contract amount of US $126.03 billion, accounting for 51.6% of the newly signed contract amount of China's foreign contracted projects in the same period, up 36% year on year; The completed revenue was 75.97 billion US dollars, accounting for 47.7% of the total amount during the same period, with a year-on-year increase of 9.7%.
